For the past few days we have be advocating to get our 501 (c) 19 VFW Posts included in the NJEDA’s Small Business Emergency Assistance Grant Program.
Our hard work paid off and at 7:00 PM today we received a call from the Chief Executive Officer of the New Jersey Economic Development that 501 (c) 19 Posts will be included in the grant application process June 9th.
Applications for the expanded Small Business Emergency Assistance Grant Program Phase 2 will be available at 9:00 a.m. on June 9, 2020. NJEDA staff will process the applications on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be no application fee.
Grant Program information can be found Here
A sample application can be found HERE
Please review the application before applying. The last round of grants received 30,000 applications in an hour, so be ready to apply June 9th at 9 AM with all of the required documentation.
Hopefully the state website and application will be updated with a check box of 501 (c) 19. If not apply anyway and advise the State Adjutant of any rejected applications.
We will continue to work with our State Legislators to craft bills that will benefit our Posts during these difficult times.
Lastly, I would like to thank our State Officers, Terry Dearden at DMAVA, many State Senators and Assembly members, and Congressman Kim’s Office, for their advocacy in this matter.
