Website Administrator ~ Bob Bullock


Bob spent 20 years Active Duty and retired from the USAF. During his time in the service Bob worked with Tactical Air Traffic Control Operations. Bob’s assignments and deployments include Germany, England, Egypt, and Honduras. Campaigns included ground support for Operation Eagle Claw which was the mission to try and rescue the 52 American hostages from Iran. Bob was also involved with the initial installation of Ground Launch Cruise Missiles at RAF Greenham Common in the UK. During his time in Germany Bob was with the 1st Combat Communications Group. This unit was very active and participated in numerous missions through Europe. During the Cold War, Bob was also stationed in Tempelhof, West Berlin. It was there in 1989 when Bob witnessed the opening of the Berlin Wall.  Also during this period he participated in Operation Desert Shield/Storm.  Bob finished up his career as a Drill Instructor at Lackland AFB in Texas.


Bob is the recipient of the following awards;

Bob is married to his wife Griseldis who he met while stationed in West Berlin.

Bob was originally a member of Post 3117 in 1989. Being absent for a few years, he has now returned as a Life Member of the Post.

Quartermaster ~ Ken Durkin


Quartermaster Ken Durkin served in the US Army from November 1970 until June 1973, and did his basic training at Fort Dix, NJ. Upon graduation, he was sent to Ft. Bliss, Texas and enrolled in the Defense Language Institute for a 47 week course in the North Vietnamese language. After completion of the course, he was deployed to the Republic of Vietnam.  In Vietnam,  Ken served at the Phu Bai US army base in northern Vietnam,  translating captured enemy documents and intercepts of North Vietnamese military radio traffic. In addition, he was assigned as a M60 machine gunner on perimeter defense.  In Spring of 1972 he  was posted to Udon Thani in the Republic of Thailand where he served out the balance of his military commitment until discharge.
